CCPAS (The Churches’ Child Protection Advisory Service) is the only independent Christian safeguarding charity which provides:

We exist to safeguard both children and vulnerable adults throughout the UK. We also work to help those throughout the UK who are, or have been, affected by child abuse and similar issues.

CCPAS is consulted and used by places of worship and groups across the church spectrum. We also assist other faith groups and a wide variety of statutory agencies and non-faith organisations keen to benefit from our resources and expertise.

We therefore regularly give advice to government, Safeguarding Boards, Children's Social Care, Adult Social Services, the Police, the Probation Service, Health, voluntary bodies and other agencies across the UK.

A major part of our work is Disclosure checks which is available to independent churches or organisations/denominations of any size. Large organisations or denominations processing around 800 checks per year can access our bespoke membership scheme at discounted rates. We now offer our new ‘E-bulk’ service for online DBS checks (previously known as CRB). The benefit of E-bulk is that most check results are back within a few days. This compares very favourably to paper checks, which generally take several weeks to complete.

We are members of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS). We have also been selected as a partner agency with CEOP (the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre)
