E-bulk Online Checks

After much research and ground work, we have launched E-bulk - our new online CRB application system. This system is suitable for the smallest to the largest of organisations.

Everyone involved in trialing E-bulk says that it has transformed how they carry out disclosures. The many benefits of this fully secure system include:

• Much faster recruitment decisions – E-bulk reduces total processing time by at least two weeks
• Manual administration greatly reduced - saves time and aggravation
• Error rates much diminished due to self-validating mandatory fields – no more forms returned in the post for re-submission
•  Electronic Disclosure Certificates provided for all clear applications
• Absolutely no postage costs whatsoever

To use E-bulk, the applicant completes an online disclosure application form via our fully secure system, and forwards it to the Recruiter electronically.  The Recruiter in turn sends it to CCPAS, once he or she has verified certain sections of the form and the applicant’s identity documents. We then send it straight to the CRB

Often the entire process, from the applicant completing their form to its arrival at the CRB, takes less than one working day!

The CRB then processes the form and sends back either a secure electronic notification (if the certificate is clear) or a paper copy, if there is information disclosed. Under E-bulk applicants will still always receive their own paper copies of the CRB Certificate.

But the best evidence of how well E-bulk performs comes from the Recruiters themselves. Emily, from Kent is now using it and seeing the dramatic improvements it brings to the task of safe recruitment. She says:

“I work for a fostering agency and this means that we often need a CRB check back urgently. Since being involved in the E-bulk system, my job has become so much easier! When we were using paper CRBs it could take up to a month, sometimes longer, for the disclosure to come back. Since using the new system the average time it has taken to process a check is six days, one even came back the next day.
