What We Provide

Charges
The recommended donation for membership to CCPAS is £70.00 per annum which includes 20 free volunteer checks in the first year of membership.

Additional volunteer checks will cost £12.00 inc. VAT per check and this charge will be levied for all volunteer checks after the first year. Each check for a paid worker is £48.00 (incl VAT). This covers the £36.00 fee levied by the CRB plus the same administrative charge for volunteer checks.

Forms returned to the sender because they have been incorrectly completed will incur a charge of £4.50 inc. VAT per form. Incorrect forms cause a significant increase in workload and this charge contributes to covering administrative costs.

Payment for the services detailed above must be by Direct Debit. This is carried out on a monthly basis and 15 days notice is given by email before any monies are taken.

What is a Disclosure?
A Disclosure is a document containing information held by the police and government departments. It enables organisations to check the background of job applicants (paid or voluntary) to ensure that they do not have a history that would make them unsuitable for the post they want to fill. Disclosures would provide details of a person's criminal record, including convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held on the police national computer (PNC). If the position involves working with children, Disclosures will also contain details from lists held by the Department of Health (DoH) and the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) and those considered unsuitable for this type of work. If the post involves working with vulnerable adults then the Disclosure will also contain details from the Protection of Vulnerable Adults list (POVA). Depending upon the level of Disclosure, it might also contain information held by local police forces.

CCPAS Disclosure Document
We have produced a comprehensive document detailing what the Criminal Records Bureau is and how churches and organisations in England and Wales can obtain disclosure checks on their workers (paid and volunteers) through the CCPAS Disclosure Service. We are registered as an ‘umbrella body'. Please click on the links on the left.

Why use CCPAS for CRB checks?

We deal with most post on the day of receipt!
We offer you 20 free Volunteer Checks in the first year of membership
We have dedicated staff to help you with any information that appears on a disclosure certificate
We are not here just to provide criminal records checks (unlike many other organisations).  We provide a comprehensive safeguarding advice, training and support service which includes a 24 hour helpline and have many years experience in this field.

We know the issues that affect churches and youth organisations from first-hand experience

We are in regular contact with top management at the CRB and are kept up-to-date with latest developments

Though some organisations purport to offer an ‘on line’ service, this only relates to completing an application form which is then processed manually.  A true on-line service is being introduced by the CRB in England and Wales and we anticipate offering this to CCPAS users as soon as it becomes available.
