What We Provide

How can churches 'face the unthinkable' - that children are abused, even within the church? Sadly it does happen and each week we receive over 500 calls to the CCPAS helpline from people seeking help and advice on child protection issues.

The Seminar

This seminar is especially designed to equip leaders and youth/children's workers within churches and organisations who either work, or are in regular contact with children and young people. It covers many areas including:

The seminar is inter-active and opportunity is given for delegates to ask questions or raise issues of concern on any area connected to child protection and good working practice.

Venues

The seminars are generally hosted by local churches, church bodies or organisations, and are open to all. The format remains broadly the same, though it can be tailored if need be, to suit the organisation/church hosting the seminar. Please follow procedure ‘how to arrange’ on the left if you wish to arrange a seminar or video workpack presentation in your area.

Presenters

David & Pauline Pearson will lead the seminar. David has been involved in child protection for more than thirty years. He worked as a Senior Social Services Manager and is involved in giving independent advice to Courts and Social Services etc. on matters of child abuse/protection in the UK.

Pauline has a background in nursing and residential social work and extensive experience in direct work with children and counselling adults who have been abused.

Cost

The cost is £19.50 per delegate and includes a workbook (value £5.00). If you cannot afford the suggested contribution, please send whatever you can. There is also a 'Group Offer' - 5 places for £75.00.
