Safe and Secure – the DVD. This is a 50 minute docu-drama style presentation in 16 languages, British Sign Language and English subtitles, and follows the story of two cases of abuse, one of which was handled badly and the other well. It presents the 10 CCPAS faith group principles of safeguarding in clear, logical steps and is particularly relevant to trustees, leaders and for showing to the adult congregation generally where full safeguarding training is not needed. It would also be a useful introduction to new workers before experiencing one of our ‘Facing the Unthinkable’ live seminars or in the distance learning programme (below). From time to time, training sessions are arranged for ‘recruiters’ (those who verify CRB applications in a church or group and act as a CCPAS agent) on current issues and the ISA Vetting and Barring Scheme. Sessions planned for the future will include information on the new electronic CRB applications scheme. All Recruiters will be advised by email as these become available. 'Facing the Unthinkable'. Comprehensive child protection course containing seven hours of DVD providing a course of study of between four and fifteen hours which can be used on a 'pick and mix' basis. The pack does everything for you (the presenter need not have any particular experience in safeguarding) and lends itself to further discussion so that the principles can be related to the requirements of the church or group.
